Barry Ferguson

Does Bazza really want to leave? Are The Gers really about to sell him?

Taking the latter question first I have to say it looks like John “the liquidator” McClelland is pretty keen to cash in on Fergie’s market value.

This is what Murray let Mac in for. Scottish football is downsizing - Rangers have taken their time addressing the situation and smellik will probably be a few years behind us thanks to the miracles of O’kneel - and Murray Mint, like ourselves the punters, would rather moan about the small size of our domestic set-up and talk about potential European glory than do the cold, hard cost-cutting which is required around The Brox.

I’d like to thank McClelland and the current Rangers board for realising the need for and taking care of the task none of us season ticket-holders will ever admit needs doing: The survival of Rangers the club is infinitely more important than the survival of one player’s - no ELEVEN players’ - Ibrox career.

Watching Bazz go will break my heart but losing The Rangers down the financial plug-hole would be “Vesti la giubba” times ten. So we’ll not be as strong as we were last season. No big deal - dominating Scottish football - winning every domestic trophy available in one season has been shown up for what it is: Utterly worthless to all but Scottish football fans.

Scotland will get it’s competitive domestic league again but it’ll be because the Old Firm will soon be as skint as Hearts, Hibs and killie. However, we have to thank Murray, McClelland, Bazza, Amo, Numan, Bertie bomb-scare, Neilly McCann and Caniggia for leaving us with a beautiful, glittering present to sustain us in the new winter.

We put the brakes on any potential Stein-eque dynsaty from parkheid and stocked ourselves up on glory and silverware to keep us warm through the cold years ahead.

Bazz. Does he want to go to the Premiership. He’d be aff his fu**ing heid if he doesnae. Go, Barry - GO! You performed near miracles last season to win us a league which only we care about. He proved his Rangers loyalty by playing through pain and the chance of a move to a real side for more than a year to give us a parting gift of outstanding proportions.

It’s been a joy watching him grow into a man and a world-class player. I’d hate to see that progress stunted.

We’ll be alright.

I’m away on me holidays folks - be back in time for the Hibs game.
When I get back, could someone have moved Rangers to the FA Premiership for me, please. Thanks.

Oh, and I mean moving us as one whole club, rather than selling the players off individually to different existing Premiership clubs.

Thanks.

We arra peepole.

No, honestly, we are! … no matter who’s playing for our club.
