There were only two teams I wanted from the big pot. And, let’s be honest, the “derby” factor makes Manchester United an even more tantalising prospect than Real Madrid.

McLeish up against his old boss, Sir Alex brings a team to Ibrox again, Craig Moore faces Van Nistelrooy once more and - dare we believe it could really happen - a chance for The Rangers to gub the darlings of the “British” media.

Okay, I can’t see us getting anything from Man U. Even if they ain’t as good as ITV and the BBC would have us believe - they’re still one of Europe’s finest.

But we have to be playing them to ever have a chance of beating them, so…

We’re aiming for second place but with Panathinaikos and Stuttgart making up the rest of the group, we’ll be lucky to get a point. Still, the money’s in the bank so let’s just give it all we’ve got.

Get yer ear plugs in, Sir Alex - things are about to get LOUD!
