Henchoz chose wrong … Barry waits long … Mlad is just GONE…
Dostoevsky, ex of the Siberian representative XI, said Hell might be nothing more than an empty room with a chair in it. For me, however, I think eternal damnation would be at it’s most hideous if it consisted of being forced to spend infinity driving round a supermarket car park on an eternal Saturday morning.
But have ye ever noticed how unbelievably two-faced you become in the short time between driving the motor into a parking spot and actually entering the supermarket on foot? While turning the wheel, looking for a space at the end of all those white-washed arrows and yellow chevrons, you find yourself utterly perplexed by the moronic pedestrians - probably trying to find their own car - who stroll about the middle of the little roadways, seemingly determined to have themselves and their shopping crushed into the tarmac by your family saloon.
You despise these people - condemn their ignorant disregard for their own saftety and, more importantly, their obstruction of your chores.
Then, the moment you finally get that car slotted between the two abandoned four-by-fours at the point furthest from the shop entrance, you slip the keys out the ignition and go dancing across the car park in exactly the same haphazard, careless fashion of those you condemned so lustily just seconds earlier. Now, it’s those bloody nuisance CARS you hate - stoopid drivers, preventing you getting out the rain and into the warmth of the bread aisle…
Stephane Henchoz: He might have been coming to Rangers last week. I thought, “yes - fair enough signing target: Good experience and not beyond our price range. Could be a smart wee signing”. But I wasn’t really THAT excited.
Now he looks like he’s going to Celtic and I’m more excited than ever: “Dirty bas*ard! - Fu** him! - hope he breaks a leg in his first game .. NEVER liked him - he’s too old - he’s PAST it!!”
Ach - these things happen. if it’s anything like the John Hartson saga, we’ll be glad we didnae sign him … (aherm)
Stefan Klos was watched by Arsenal on Sunday, apparently, and he certainly seemed to be going out his way to show someone he was worth buying. But, the thing is, Stefan performs heroics like that in nine games out of ten - and he’s never went nowhere yet.
Funnily enough, the Dortmund fans always wanted Stef back - particulary when Jens Lehman was his successor at the Westfalen Stadion. An ex-Schalke player, and one who’d scored against Dortmund for Die Konigsblauen in a Rhur derby, Lehman didn’t really settle in with the Dortmunders until … until he set up that last minute equaliser for Fredi Bloody Bobic in a Uefa Cup game against Scotland’s Royal Blues!
Stef didn’t play that awful penalty-missing night but when Lehman eventually went to Arsenal and had his bad moments I couldn’t help thinking we were lucky to be keping Stef a secret at Ibrox. Now the secret’s out I only hope our Kapitan is indeed happy to spend the rest of his career in Govan.
And I’d quite like it if the Blackburn captain would do likewise.
Barry’s being allowed to leave but only if we pay Rovers
