   Hmm. The mentality of some people. To say someone isn’t even a good player in the SPL… this is like when people say “Rangers are pish”. If that’s the case how bad can Celtic be if we’ve beaten them three times already this season. Ferguson playing in one of those games - must mean that one of the Celtic midfielders must be even worse than “not even a good player”. Grow up and try and think up reasonable arguments. I can’t think of a player I hate more than Chris Sutton - but I also can’t imagine ever saying he is shite. I might call him a shite though!

    Reasons why Barry is a bad player.
    1. Touches the ball more times than need be (ie takes 3 players to pass the ball 5 yards. Just cause Barry wants to make the pass. However in doing so he is somehow controlling and bossing the midfield.

    2. He is the same type of player as Lennon, Lambert, Batty and the like.

    3. Once heard him telling his dad that he was playing rubbish because he was wearing the wrong shinguards.

    Tron, Johnstone looked like a very good player in an exceptional celtic side, whereas Cooper was an exceptional player in a series of mediocre Rangers sides. Game, set match to Coop, I think.

    And Bazza changed his mind about the Milan deal when he heard that there isn’t a decent kebab shop within 5 miles of the San Siro…….

    If you’re writing from Italia or have less knowledge of the Scottish scene than Serie A then you can be forgiven for even wondering if it was an April Fool but some folk from these shores - Jeezus! - I threw in the bit about Nesta and Pirlo coming to Ibrox as the “cryptic” giveaway but then, fearing a back-lash from Gers fans for my negative rumour-mongering I thought the bit about Barry speaking fluent Italian was an open bloody admission it was an April fool. :-)

    Loved the replies from Andrea Pirlo, Seamus O Dingle, Tam, Duncan and a couple from Barry Himself - s’nice tae huv a larf is it noh.

    But, Tronbhoy, I’m actually wondering if you’re not a particularly evil-minded Gers fan. See, otherwise, your patter is an embarrassment to yourself, Jimmy Johnstone and all the thousands of Celtic fans who have no problem dealing with the fact Davie Cooper was a great player.

But I’m afraid, unintentional or not, you’re serving as an effective warm-up to the THIRST, the DESPERATION for some sort of anti-Papacy sentiment on the latest thread, under the Motherwell match report. And it ain’t a thirst coming from Rangers fans.

    I probably would have removed the “Loyal and True” post if I’d spotted it before you lads had your wee says.

    I’d have removed it because, to be frank, it’s so stupidly stereotyped - like the reverse examples from “UpTHE RA”, “Peter Devlin”, “JPII” - it was probably penned by a Rangers-hater whs was so determined to have his “moment of outrage”, but could find nothing offensive in THE ARTICLES WHICH MAKE UP THE VAST BULK AND DICTATE THE TONE OF THE SITE, he needed to invent a reason.

    “Loyal and True” also seems to be taking my April Fool about Ferguson as a genuine attempt at News. Quite cretinous, don’t you think - almost a care-in-the-community case. And to take him seriously does not reflect too well on yerselves. Funny how he’s never appeared on this site before.

    Unlike yerself, U2, who seems to think that one nutter post on a thread - among the many nutter posts I receive from Celtic fans and refuse to delete - will convince any passing reader that the entire site is bigoted.

    Perhaps - if they only read what they want to read. Coz, at the last count, “Loyal and True” (why didn’t he just sign it “King Billy”?)is the only post on this site which says ANYTHING insulting about the Pope, Vatican, Fish on a Friday etc.

    I frequently see posts which are quite plainly from Rangers fans impersonating Celtic fans and having a wee say about the IRA or some such unmentionable. Mybe I should delete these posts because I’m automatically thinking I must be fairer to the opposition punters than The Bluenoses if the site’s to have even a semblance of objectivity (about non-footballing matters, that is!!). Maybe I should also remove comments from certain Celtic fans who go off on one in a way which does disservice to no-one but themselves and, if allowed to remain on the site, would seem like me mocking the afflicted. Where does it stop, though? The “Loyal and True” post seems to me to be insulting to all decent Rangers fans - no? Or are there any decent Rangers fans? Is this post not proving that Celtic fans are indeed required as the nations moral guardians. If you believe it’s from a Rangers fan then it’s only Rangers fans who should be worried by it - in fact I should see it as a ready-made advert AGAINST bigotry (ie, “become a bigot and you’ll look as stupid as THIS guy!”)

    Price of free speech indeed, U2 - and the need to maintain free speech also requires some double-takes. Your wee “this website will look like a haven for bigots” isnt just a stupidly innacurate statement from an obviously intelligent guy but a little, albeit out of character, hyserical slice of emotional blackmail.     Can I just remind you that things theological, political, football are never dry cut. The Pope who recently passed was a great agitator in the fall of communism and undoubtedly a hell of a guy - most goalkeepers are. But The late John Paul was also a total homophobe, a preacher of homophobia - and not only against abortion but against the very idea of contraception. Maybe the new incumbent of this exclusive role will be a tad more broad-minded and there’s no doubt the Catholic church does as much good as wrong so “fuck the PAPACY” may be an uneducated insult which does not reflect well on the Rangers support - but defending the Polish chap who died at the weekend on the grounds of bigotry is a total non-starter. His bigotry was dressed in the robes of self-appointed moral superiority. “Loyal and True” we can all see coming. I’m not defending either but I know which one worries me more.

    That’s me, PERSONALLY (sic), by the way!

    The only posts I’ve ever removed from this site were anti-Rangers/Celtic insults using the topics of female rape - coming from a confused reaction to the infamous Leicester City trip to La Manga - and paedophelia. THAT’s the kind of universal which we should be outraged about.
